The Taichung Mosque is located at 457, Dandu South Road, Nantun District, Taichung City. It was completed in 1970 (Republic of China year 79) and received a comprehensive renovation in 2020 (ROC 109), becoming the most distinctly Islamic-style building in Taiwan and the sole landmark of Islamic architecture in central Taiwan. The renovated structure draws its color palette and elements from the Prophet’s Mosque in Mecca, featuring a grand white dome, two towering minarets, and orange‑pale exterior walls accented by eleven large archways that resemble black and white stonework. It is considered the most beautiful mosque in all of Taiwan. The Taichung Mosque not only exudes grandeur and solemnity but also incorporates environmentally friendly solar power generation. In 2020 it received the Roof Green Energy Contribution Award from Mayor Lu Xiu‑Yan of Taichung City, earning the distinction of a green‑energy religious site. That same year, it was selected by Chunghwa Post as part of an annual stamp series representing Taiwan, making the Taichung Mosque a popular photo‑op and tourist destination.
