"402 Park" is located at the intersection of Mengjia Boulevard and Xiyuan Road, with an area of 4,693 square meters and a roughly triangular shape. The park site was originally used for the Renji Sanatorium, residential buildings, and other structures. The surrounding environment was dilapidated, resulting in poor living quality and an adverse impact on the urban landscape. Therefore, the city government promoted the urban renewal of Wanhua and constructed this park. In addition to preserving existing healthy trees and plants, a simple greening approach was adopted to improve the surrounding environment and provide a grassy area for public use. The park was officially opened on November 13, 2006. The park features an herb and medicinal herb garden on the side near Xiyuan Road. Along the Mengjia Boulevard side, there are benches, a roughly 256-square-meter activity square, and historical buildings. Shrubs such as blue butterflies and Chinese angelica are planted along the walkway connecting the square and building corridors. The park also features a vast lawn area and trees such as banyan trees, Chinese fan palms, Taiwanese elm, camphor trees, and stick cocoas. The park has become a shaded area with mature trees, making it an ideal spot for nearby residents to relax, chat, and build relationships.
