Xie Xuehong went to Moscow for further studies after completing her studies at Shanghai University. Due to instructions from the Communist International, she returned to Taiwan to develop and organize, and decided to run a bookstore to protect herself while introducing communist ideology. The International Bookstore was founded in 1929, mainly selling left-wing ideological books and publications, and also serving as a secret contact point for the left-wing Taiwanese Communist Party. The International Bookstore played an important channel for the Taiwanese Communist Party in the February 28 incident, and had direct or indirect relationships with the 27th Army and related revolutionary groups.
