The large camphor tree is over 700 years old and stands 30 meters tall, located in front of the Dazhong Yeh Temple in Jiji, which is famous for its incense and grand festivals. In the early years of the Guangxu Emperor, the original small shrine was rebuilt and renovated by believers, and a statue of Dazhong Yeh was carved to be worshiped. The old camphor tree, due to its great age, is regarded as a deity by the local people and is called "Camphor Tree Lord". It is said to be very helpful for finding lost items. Every year on the 23rd day of the 8th lunar month is the Camphor Tree Lord's birthday, which is also the day of the annual big worship in Jiji. On this day, countless tourists and believers come to visit, and the street is packed with vendors, crowds, and opera stages for fulfilling vows, making it the most important day for the town of Jiji.
