Owner Yeh Jung-chun's Ah Cheng Noodles has a history of over 70 years in Hsinchu. At that time, many people would gather at the temple entrance, such as street performers, hawkers selling medicinal ointments, and worshipers. So, they started selling rice noodles from an old pushcart at the temple entrance. The business was passed down from the owner's great-grandfather to his grandfather, who was known as "Ah Cheng." Therefore, this old establishment at the City God Temple is called Ah Cheng Noodles. The most popular dishes at Ah Cheng Noodles, aside from stir-fried rice noodles, are zaosui (a mixed meat and vegetable soup) and Chinese meatball soup. These three dishes have been sold since the great-grandfather's time and are the most highly praised. The rice noodles are handmade and sun-dried in Hsinchu, giving them a unique texture. Combined with the owner's secret braising sauce, which includes five-spice pork and garlic, many gourmets have praised the dish to no end. Even former President Chiang, President Lee, Governor Song, and Wu Po-hsiung have visited this eatery.
