Luo Co Catholic Church purchased land in 1877 and commenced construction in 1882, having undergone three renovations. It serves as the central base of Catholicism in central Taiwan and was the residence of priests. The first 14 incumbents were all Spanish, and only after the recovery of Taiwan did priests from the United States take over.
