Changhua's Largest Ancient Residence: Ma Hsing Chen Family Residence (Ancient Yi Yuan House). The Ma Hsing Chen Yi Yuan Great House is a National Designated Historic Site, recognized as Changhua's largest ancient residence and one of Taiwan's renowned historic mansions. It was constructed in the 26th year of the Qing Daoguang era (1846 AD). The Chen family, having accumulated wealth through business activities in Taiwan, subsequently purchased land and built this grand mansion and estate. Family members passed the imperial examination in the ninth year of the Xianfeng era (1859 AD) and later produced multiple literary and military scholars, degree holders, and tribute scholars, achieving remarkable academic and official accomplishments.
