Zen Lin Temple is located on the mid-mountain of Meishan, Chiayi County, renowned for its widespread plum trees, with over three thousand of them. The garden is also planted with peach, plum, rhododendron and other flowers, creating a colorful display of reds and purples that can be admired in every season, and it is also a great spot for moon viewing—known as the "Plum Hall Moon Meditation," once one of the Eight Sceneries of Zhula.
The main hall of Zen Lin Temple is majestic, housing the Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara. It is considered the foremost Buddhist site in Meishan Township. In front of the temple stands a tall bamboo grove, offering a tranquil, ancient, and elegant atmosphere.
Because the shrine dedicated to Avalokiteshvara is quiet and solemn, pilgrims visit year after year. Since ancient times, it has been an important place for religious faith and spiritual life. Ascending the ancient stone steps, you can view the entire city of Meishan; immersed in it, you will feel the Buddha's compassion and a serene fragrance.
