Fengshan County had originally six city gates and six artillery emplacements. Now, only one city gate (East Convenience Gate) and three artillery emplacements (Chenglan, Heping, and Xunfeng) remain. All of them have been designated as municipally declared historic sites "Remains of Fengshan County City". The Chenglan Artillery Emplacement is located at the junction of Lizhi Street and Fuxing Street (behind Fengshan Elementary School) in Fengshan District. It is an irregular octagonal artillery emplacement and is situated at the southwest corner of the county city. On both sides of the artillery emplacement's wing walls, several "gun holes" (larger inside and smaller outside) for firing long guns can still be clearly seen. The view from the artillery emplacement to the moat is broad and unobstructed.
