The Shipan Valley Cliff Art Forest is located beside the Shipan Valley Waterfall on the upstream of Gankeng Creek, a large natural cliff with a slope. The cliff face is about the size of a soccer field. There are ropes set up at the top of the slope for tourists to pull themselves up. On the slope, there are also many smooth-trunked trees called Taiwan beauty. The villagers named these trees according to their different shapes: Mantis, Centipede, Giant Crab Wood, King Spider, Deer Horn Fork, etc. The forest is also called the "Taiwan Beauty Art Forest". In addition to the Taiwan beauty trees, there are also a few other trees mixed in the forest on the cliff. One of the most popular is a huge tree with twisted roots, called the "Century-old Giant Elm". From here, there is a hiking trail leading to the Jiaonan Peak, which takes about 1.5 hours, then to Caoling.
