From Yunlin, the owner of Xiang Du Patisserie, Lee Tzong-Yi, together with his twin brothers, learned to bake pastries. They moved north to co-open a bakery and started from scratch, managing to earn a living before eventually opening their own stores separately. The pastry master, Wang Chi-Lung, who is responsible for the bakery's creations, also hails from Chia Yi and is a seasoned expert in pastry with over 20 years of rich experience. Xiang Du Patisserie's ''White Jade Vegan Egg Yolk Tart'' is the only vegetarian egg yolk tart among the 15 finalists in the latest Egg Yolk Tart Festival Competition.
