Tainan Xinhua Golf Course was planned and developed during the martial law period. In 1967, former Legislator Ms. Liang Xu Chun-ju, in view of the fact that golf would become a popular sport and could cultivate noble character, initiated the project with a group of enthusiastic supporters. With the help of General He Yingqin and other influential figures, the golf course was planned on the slopes of Mt. Hutou. The first 9 holes were completed in March 1971, followed by the completion of the back 9 in 1978, making it an 18-hole course. In 1998, the back 9 holes were renovated and reopened, creating a golfing craze in southern Taiwan. Tainan Golf Course is one of the oldest courses in southern Taiwan, located just 10 kilometers from the city center, making it easily accessible. The lush green course, coupled with its picturesque scenery, provides a refreshing and enjoyable golfing experience.
