The Lianhou Community in Shuinan Cave is a group of dormitories planned and built by the Japanese during the mining period. The houses are arranged neatly and have a complete self-water supply system, fire-fighting equipment, post office, police station, hospital, supply society, and other facilities, providing a comprehensive living function. Currently, the miner's settlement in the Lianhou Community remains intact. The dormitories were allocated according to job rank, with supervisor-level staff having two-unit apartments per building. The connected buildings provided dormitories for general worker's families, with four or six units per row, built adjacent to each other. The community also features restaurants, bathhouses, and ball courts. The abandoned Taipower restaurant in Shuinan Cave is a one-story reinforced concrete building. According to the "Shuinan Cave Area Water Supply Pipeline Plan" preserved by the Taiwan Gold Corporation, this building was originally a hospital, later renovated and rented by the Ruifang District Office as a community activity center for local residents, aiming to establish Lianhou Village as a new and emerging scenic spot. The New Taipei City Tourism Bureau chose this location to establish a tourist service center to enhance tourism services in Lianhou Village. The tourist service center is located in the original community restaurant, while the Arts and Cultural Performance Center is a former theater that regularly screened movies and was a primary form of entertainment for residents at the time. The architectural concept of the tourist service center was designed to resemble the imagery of the Thirteen Levels遗址, with structural reinforcement and exterior renovation of the old restaurant. After renovation, it became the nation's first tourist service center to integrate cultural and artistic performances, creating added value and differentiation in tourism services. ▲ Picture source: New Taipei City Tourism Bureau ▲ Picture source: New Taipei City Tourism Bureau (Data source: New Taipei City Tourism Bureau)
