The building was originally Renhe Elementary School. After 20 years of closure due to population outflow, it was renovated in 2003 under the "Revitalization of Underutilized Spaces" initiative by the Council for Cultural Affairs. To commemorate the arduous efforts of our ancestors who bravely explored and pioneered new lands with "Jin Guang Cheng Ke No.", it was named the Jin Guang Cheng Cultural Center.
