Since the Qing dynasty, the market within the city has been the gathering place for vendors in the Taipei city. As of today, it has also become a traditional market with a collection of local cuisine. The market opens from early morning till late at night. There is a street dedicated to restaurants and another one selling mainly clothes. It is a good place for locals to buy daily necessities and taste traditional food.
