Take a 6-holed dock fishing boat and enjoy the joy of exploring the lagoon. Want to get closer to the lagoon? Taking a sightseeing fishing boat is one of the most popular tourist activities in Qigou in recent years. The six-hole dock is a small dock for tourists to take bamboo boat tours of the lagoon. Not only can you take a rubber raft tour of the lagoon (suitable tide times can be inquired about from boat owners or homestays), admire the oyster cages, fixed fishing nets, and visit the sandbars, but on sunny days, you can also enjoy the beauty of the lagoon's sunset glow. If you encounter a captain of a sightseeing fishing boat with good service, they will even grill oysters and mullet on board for tourists to try.
The lagoon is full of oyster cages and fishing grounds surrounded by bamboo poles. Fishermen operate sightseeing fishing boats cruising through them, just like driving a car. Rows of bamboo fence enclosures look the same, but fishermen know exactly whose fishing ground it is. Sometimes, fishermen will demonstrate how to operate fixed nets on site.
In this waterway, you'll see rows of low oyster racks. Due to stable currents and clean seawater, the oysters cultivated here are considered a local specialty. You can see oyster farmers harvesting oysters and anglers fishing leisurely.
The sightseeing fishing boat ride takes about 20 minutes to reach the sandbar. Besides seeing sand crabs and fiddler crabs, the large areas of casuarina trees on both sides are a favorite habitat of egrets. Occasionally, you can see nests of egrets and other migratory birds, even young birds chirping for food. In the evening, you can see adult birds returning to their nests.
