The old railway station within Taitung City, after its closure and several changes over time, has been converted into the starting point of the Taitung Mountains and Seas Bike Path and the Railway Art Village, offering residents and tourists a place for leisurely strolls. The original waiting room was renovated into a Tourism Service Center, providing domestic and international travelers with tourist information, scenic area brochures, presentations, multimedia displays, guided explanations, emergency reporting, and related consultation services, serving as the most important contact point for visitors. Given the disorganized public bus information in Taitung and inconsistent departure locations that confuse both tourists and residents, Taitung County Government, in collaboration with the I+T International Attractiveness Program, has renovated the original station into the Taitung Intermodal Terminal and Tourism Service Center. By integrating the concept of "I(Information) + T(Transport)," this facility combines tourism service information with road transportation. It standardizes the departure points for all bus routes and provides unified access to tourism consultations, boarding, ticket sales, and related services, offering convenience for travelers and the public.
