CHILL Seagull What is Chill? It's a popular term used to describe a person's relaxed and casual attitude towards life, a word that's full of atmosphere. As night falls, walking along Xingzhong Street next to Chiayi Cultural Park, looking up to see an old house with a fresh new face, the store front lighting up with the "CHILL" neon sign, why not follow your mood and push open the door, your demeanor will surely be carefree. This is a Japanese izakaya that mainly serves skewers, extending to other Japanese dishes, paired with beer, High ball, whiskey, and fruit wines. The introduction reads: "A small green oasis for the city and your appetite. Close to the park, a place where you can relax, eat meat, and drink wine, that's where CHILL is." It's impressive to use the homophonic characters "Seagull" as the Chinese name, the boss is really creative. The boss, nicknamed "Koro", used to work in a Japanese barbecue restaurant in Tainan for many years. Due to family reasons, he returned to his hometown and decided to bring his years of experience back to Chiayi. When looking for a store location, as soon as he stepped into this small old house, he immediately thought of the atmosphere of drinking at an izakaya in Japan at night, where the owner and customers, whether familiar or not, all interacted with each other like friends. Koro said he just wanted to recreate that Chill feeling in his hometown.
