The Wang Dihong Architecture Theater was once located in a lane on Jian Guo South Road, within the former residence of architect Wang Dihong, which has since been demolished. In 2017, the Wang Dihong Architecture Research and Preservation Society reconstructed a mock version in the Art Park on the south side of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and donated it to the Taipei City Government for research and educational purposes. In 2018, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum launched the "Wang Dihong Architecture Theater," which combines the elements of "architecture" and "theater." It can be interpreted as "architecture (as a form of) theater" or "building (a) theater." The concept of "theater" here differs from the traditional understanding of a physical theater space with a stage, seating, actors, and audience. Instead, it aims to create a space that deviates from the real world, allowing visitors to immerse themselves and construct their unique viewing experience.
The Wang Dihong Book Nook, DH Café, is a compound art and cultural space located next to the "Wang Dihong Architecture Theater." It features a selection of architectural and art books, coffee, and light meals, along with mini-exhibitions and themed salon lectures. The goal is to recreate the elegance and professionalism of an architect's study, capturing the rich cultural and intellectual atmosphere of a classic residence.
