The “Hexing Youth Innovation Base” sits behind the former Hexing Police Station on Zhongshan Road, Lukang, Changhua County. Eight buildings cover roughly 1,377 m². The site still holds a Japanese-era wooden structure and a pair of washed-granite gateposts; from the second-floor skybridge the timeless beauty of the old jar wall is laid out before you. For many Lukang residents it is a living childhood memory; walking through the grounds feels like stepping into a time tunnel that returns you to the sweet days of old.
To help young people stay in—or return to—their hometown, the base has been operated under an OT (Operate-Transfer) contract by Yuk-Chen-Hexing Co., Ltd. since 21 February 2023. By bringing in professional private-sector management and stronger marketing, the brand visibility of the youth base is being raised, drawing visitors to experience the creativity and drive of young entrepreneurs. Regular cultural workshops and markets will gather even more start-up energy, creating a clustering effect for cultural industries, revitalizing the local economy, and letting youth innovation feed back into the community for shared prosperity.
For a journey that is both intellectual and soulful, come to Changhua’s “Hexing Youth Innovation Base.”
