Located in the culturally rich neighborhood of Wanhua, the "Xiyuan 29 Fashion Creation Base" was previously known as the Taipei Fashion Cultural Center. Now, it has been transformed into a three-story fashion hub, situated in the Wanhua Garment District (Dali Garment District), which serves as its foundation. The entire building features a brick-red exterior, with an interior design centered around the concept of a "tree." The goal is to become a tree of creativity, absorbing the historical and cultural atmosphere of the Wanhua area, nurturing Taiwanese fashion design talent, and expanding to support the Wanhua Garment District. This initiative aims to collaborate with local businesses and designers based at the center, establishing exemplary design project partnerships, revitalizing Taiwan's fashion and apparel design industry, and promoting Taiwanese brands and design capabilities on the international stage. The center also focuses on collaborating with schools to cultivate new designers. Currently, in addition to offering guided tours for university students from related departments, a summer internship program has been launched in partnership with schools. This allows students to participate in the operational management of the center and engage in cooperative activities with designers and the Wanhua Garment District. The goal is to help students understand the connection between design and marketing and gain insight into Taiwan's overall apparel industry ecosystem. Furthermore, courses on fashion trends and professional exhibition analysis are planned, aiming to introduce new fashion information and contribute to the cultivation of Taiwanese design talent. **A Haven for Designers to Seek Inspiration** Walking into the first-floor lobby, visitors are greeted by a predominantly white interior, designed to create a five-sensory fashion information space that serves as a stylish backdrop for showcasing designers' works. A corner café allows visitors to relax with a cup of coffee while appreciating design-infused clothing works and reading design-related publications in search of inspiration. For those interested in learning more about the "Xiyuan 29 Fashion Creation Base," the cultural and historical development of the Wanhua area, or the personal data, creative styles, and works of resident designers, the first floor features engaging video content. This provides visitors with a wealth of information in a short amount of time. An interactive screen is also available, allowing visitors to use Wii-like controllers to engage with the content and deepen their understanding of the designers. **The Second Floor: A Creative Workspace for Designers** The second floor serves as a mobile workstation for designers, housing their studios. This area is typically not open to the public. Here, creativity flows, with a pattern-making space and a variety of materials provided for designers to freely express their creativity and showcase their skills by creating garment pieces that can be considered works of art. Currently, five designers—Xu Yuzhu, Tseng Wei-hsiang, Kao Sheng-chung, Lu Hsueh-cheng, and Shih Yung-lin—are based here. In the future, the center plans to annually select new, internationally promising fashion designers to join the base. **The Third Floor: A Venue for Fashion Shows and Events** The third floor features a space suitable for small-scale fashion shows, performances, lectures, and other events, equipped with a thick carpet and curtains for good sound insulation. To maximize the use of space, a track system with movable partition panels is installed above the ceiling. The spatial arrangement of the tracks is designed to resemble the street map of the Wanhua area. The backstage area of the performance space includes a dressing room for models. In the future, departments related to fashion design are also welcome to rent the space for courses, lectures, or fashion shows.
