There is a legend about the origin of the name "Shan Zhu Gou." A wild boar demon once stole the colorful clothes of an immortal lady as she bathed by the sea, using them to threaten her. Later, the immortal lady pretended to agree, recovered her clothes, and then departed with a flourish. The wild boar demon, deceived and humiliated, died from shame and rage, which led to the location being named "Shan Zhu Gou." Along the coral reef terrain, wooden boardwalks and trails have been developed, featuring explanatory signs and observation platforms. A round-trip walk takes about over an hour. The trail is filled with old banyan trees over a hundred years old and climbing vines. Wandering through, the air is refreshingly comfortable, with coral reefs and shell fossils everywhere.
