Simplified Chinese: Worship of the main deity: Emperor of the Open Sky Fairy (Shennong Di) Festival date: Lunar July 15. Constructed during the 49th year of Emperor Qianlong (1784), it has a history of over two hundred years. Legend says the statue of the Shennong Emperor in the temple was made from a piece of wood that villagers found in flowing water, which they then took to the mainland for a sculptor to carve. In the Emperor's hall, there is an ancient incense burner that condenses water droplets. It has been stolen many times, but always returned in pristine condition.
