桃園市桃園區中正路1188號
The bustling Zhongzheng Road, crisscrossed with ceaseless traffic and lined with thriving commercial hubs, is home to the urban green gem—Taoyuan Art and Cultural Square. This square embodies people's longing to connect with nature. Covering an area of more than ten thousand pikes, expansive green spaces occupy major portions of the site, regularly adorned with scenes of families playing frisbees or children joyfully running around. Wide walking trails cater to focused joggers who embody an active lifestyle rooted here. Recently designated as one of Taoyuan’s "100 Best Picnic Spots," the square also attracts crowds who spread out picnic rugs on weekends, savoring delicious lunches under the sun. Additionally, the landscape integrates grass swales and water channels to improve site water retention. With its rich vegetation and ecological resources, the square becomes an excellent natural classroom for environmental education. It also features open-air performance spaces and small event venues for activities like the "Meiyo Concert" (grass performance), "Summer Art Festival for Families," and New Year’s eve celebrations, creating a zero-distance bridge between art and everyday life. Beyond its functions as a leisure and educational hub, the square has evolved into a multifunctional platform for cultural performances as well. The landmark of Taoyuan Art and Cultural Square—Taoyuan Performing Arts Center—was completed in 2010 with an investment nearing one billion Taiwan dollars. Its dynamic, curving architectural design vividly reflects the freedom of the art without boundaries. The grid-like glass curtain wall, illuminated by sunlight and LED lights, reveals different fashions and aesthetics in various conditions; its modern design seamlessly combines ecological architecture, marking a significant breakthrough in regional construction. With a total area of about seven thousand pikes and a layout of seven aboveground floors and one underground floor, the venue includes a salon space, an indoor stage, and a recording studio, capable of seating around 1400 people. The Taoyuan Performing Arts Center has become the city’s most representative multidimensional art platform, hosting national events such as the "47th Golden Horse Awards" and the "Taoyuan International Animation Festival," gaining regional fame for its artistic charm.
