As the original irrigation channels gradually disappeared on the opposite side of the river amid the turning of the times, the Bai Fu Bridge, opened in 2014, reconnected the two ends. The Taiping District Bat Cave Extension Trail will again feature a water‑conveyance channel across the river, as well as a bamboo‑shoot transport lane for convenient harvesting. The Bat Cave Mountain Trail in Taiping District suffered a rockfall, and to ensure everyone’s safety the trail has currently been closed. The trail is 880 m long and is the most renowned recreational spot in Taiping District, rich in cultural atmosphere. With the opening of the Bai Fu Bridge rest area, it has attracted many travelers to explore, offering two high‑quality scenic spots with both mountain and water features. The Bat Cave Extension Trail, 460 m in length, winds through a secluded ridge behind the shaded forest of the Bat Cave, exuding a vibrant, natural charm. Colorful insects and butterflies flutter everywhere, cicadas chirp, and the sounds of skylark eagles and five‑color birds merge in the sky, creating a dazzling spectacle. The trail climbs to a ridge high above the bamboo forest, where one can overlook the cool, majestic temple of Qingliu with its green mountains and waters. The descent leads to a crystal‑clear valley, with bare rock forming a long canyon and deep pool, offering a unique scenery. Hidden within is a rustic water bridge built half a century ago, providing a brilliant pause to the extended trail experience.
