The Chikann Pier is located to the northeast of Baisha Township, Penghu County. In recent years, the popularity of water activities in Beihai has turned Chikann Pier into the hottest pier in Penghu. The county government has invested heavily in building a Beihai Tourist Service Center there. Most of the fast boats traveling to and from the islands of Beihai dock at this pier. The service center features charming murals, and the second floor houses a restaurant for travelers to dine. It is the main gateway for fast boat trips to Jibei Island, Xianjiao Island, Mudou Island, and other Beihai resort destinations. Chikann is the administrative center of Baisha Township, and the nearby islands offer snorkeling, coral reef underwater scenery, fish feeding, water motorbikes, banana boats, Yanyan fast boats, and other water activities. Chikann Pier is also the most important port for catching Chinese anchovy in Baisha Township. Most of Penghu’s Chinese anchovy are caught by the villagers of this community. The season for catching anchovy runs from May to July.
