金門縣894烈嶼鄉北環道貓公石海灘旁
L-36 is located on the west-northeastern corner of Lieyu Township’s circular island bike path. Due to its position in a depression along the red soil coastline, it is also known as the "Red Soil Trench Three Military Camp." The camp features numerous life-sized soldier statues, including soldiers performing drills, attending classes, practicing pull-ups, and firing exercises in prone positions. Above the bunker, there is a guarding dog, allowing tourists to take humorous photos with them. Additionally, visitors can enjoy distant views of Xiamen and Shiyu from here. Nearby lies the Cat King Rock Beach, filled with barbed wire-covered tracks, offering another recreational site for visitors. During the cross-strait standoff period, the military judged that the beach at the site of L-36 was a potential landing point for enemy forces. To prevent enemy attacks taking advantage of the tides, a series of defensive fortifications were constructed here. The camp includes soldier dormitories and an ammunition storage. To control the beach and enforce naval defense, a total of ten rifle and machine gun ports were installed. Above the structures, there is a watchtower and multiple temporary firing positions. Having transitioned away from its past military functions, L-36 is now an attractively developed tourist destination. On clear days, visitors can see the popular "One Country, Two Systems, Unify China" slogan displayed in Xiamen City. Additionally, as L-36 is the nearest location to Shiyu, visitors should not forget to use binoculars to view both Shiyu and the slogan from this unique vantage point!
