Jiangong Yu is located at the mouth of the Wuxi Creek in the southern gate of Jincheng, covering an area of approximately 500 square meters. Also known as Dong Yu, Zhu Yu, and Ao Yu, it is a vigilant guardian between Jinmen Island and Lie Island, standing steadfast like a pillar in the central current, hence its name “Jiangong Pillar of the Central Stream.” When the tide recedes, visitors can not only marvel at the rich intertidal organisms but also ascend Jiangong Yu along the stone-paved paths—earning it the nickname “Jinmen’s version of Moses parting the Red Sea.” The Zheng Chenggong statue on the island gazes toward another Zheng Chenggong statue on Xiamen’s Gulangyu.
