The Monument to the White Terror Political Victims is located in the northwest corner of Jieshou Park in Taipei, at the intersection of Ketagalan Boulevard and Huaining Street, facing the plaza in front of the Presidential Office Building. Its prominent location is deeply significant historically and to the times. The construction of this monument was designed by architect Wang Li-fu. Ground was broken on October 16, 2007, and the construction was completed on schedule on March 27, 2008. President Chen Shui-bian, Vice President Lu Hsiu-lien, and Executive Yuan Premier Chang Chun-hsiung, among others, were invited to participate in the completion ceremony for the Monument to the White Terror Political Victims.
