Sun Moon Lake Jesus Chapel is nestled among the trees on the hillside of Hanbi Peninsula. The Roman-style architecture with yellow walls and white pillars exudes classical elegance, offering a breathtaking view of the entire Sun Moon Lake. In 1971, Former President Chiang Kai-shek and his wife had the chapel built for worship and prayers during their visits to the lake. During the 921 Earthquake in 1999, the outer area, including the living room and dormitory, was cracked and tilted. The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Management Office restored and reopened it to visitors in 2003, making it a popular spot for domestic and international couples to shoot wedding photos. In 2017, the chapel was leased to a private company for management and operation. Redeveloped with professional aesthetics for weddings and wedding photography, the chapel, which originally exudes traditional charm, unveils its mysterious veil in a renewed appearance, marking a dreamy lakeside journey of happiness for global couples.
