Located on Provincial Highway 21, Chaowu Dock is one of the four main docks of Sun Moon Lake. The east side offers a perfect view of the sunrise. Due to the influence of climate, topography and hydrology, the lake surface is often shrouded in mist at dawn. Under the reflection of the rising sun, the morning mist appears even more enchanting, earning it the reputation as "Water Society Morning Fog" and one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Sun Moon Lake. This dock is not only a place for tourists to take a yacht to enjoy the scenic views of the lake, but also the starting point for the Sun Moon Lake Swim, with the finishing point at Yita Dock on the opposite shore, a total distance of 3.3 kilometers.
