Have you tried the "One Day Double Old Streets" adventure? Starting from Daxi Bridge, head toward Longtan Sanshikeng, and you’ll capture an ultra-relaxing riverside view, century-old historical sites brimming with classical charm, rich natural ecosystems, unique local delicacies, and a slow-paced town atmosphere unchanged for decades. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you’ll be totally satisfied! The Daxi Yueli to Longtan Sanshikeng waterside scenic route spans approximately 7.19 kilometers, connecting the Daxi Old Street Riverside Trail, Yueli Bike Path, Shimen Weir Bike Path, and Sanshikeng Old Street Bike Trail along the Danshui River. Walking through the Heiping Old Street to Daxi Bridge, admire the elaborately decorated storefronts and the bridge featuring a semi-circular dome design; a Baroque-style symphony unfolds elegantly. Cross Daxi Bridge and continue upstream toward Kangjin Bridge, where a lush green field accompanies you all the way, scented with fresh rice and leek aromas in the air. From August to September, visit Fanzi Liao to see hundreds of acres of leek flower fields blooming—its romantic beauty rivals the may桐花 (breadfruit blossom) snow! Pass the Erkang rest stop and continue along the Danshui River dike to reach the Sankekeng Natural Ecology Park. Standing on the wooden observation deck, gaze calmly at the emerald lake or wander along the arch bridge and creek path—unconsciously, the fatigue of daily life dissipates, making your journey even more meaningful. Continuing for about 2 kilometers along Yongfu Road leads to Sanshikeng Old Street, known as “Longtan’s First Street,” where traditional lifestyles still remain clearly visible: women gather at the entrance to wash clothes and chat with neighbors; the secondary cultural heritage site, Yinfu Temple, has long been a local place of faith for over 200 years; and nearby, the Qing-era mansion Qinqian Hall now resides quietly amidst simplicity. From Sanshikeng Old Street, you can detour to the Shimen Weir Bike Trail, where attractions along the way include Sankekeng spring water, the butterfly flower corridor, coffee grove paths, and the桐花 viewing trail, each adding delightful surprises to your journey.
