The entrance of Pu'lai Battle Trail is located within the Baozhai Huashang Park in Liugui District, Kaohsiung City. "Pu'lai" used to be the old name for Baozhai. Pu'lai Stream Head Tribe is located at the watershed between Laonong Stream and Baozhai Stream. At the beginning of the 20th century, Japanese anthropologists discovered the ruins of "Pu'lai Stream Head Tribe" here. This battle trail is said to have been built during the Japanese rule, when the Japanese built the Meilong Mountain Fort on the ridge of Meilong Mountain to control the activities of the indigenous people. Laborers were mobilized to haul artillery tubes and construction materials to the top of Baozhai Peak to build the Meilong Mountain Fort. This trail was the predecessor of the Pu'lai Battle Trail and is of great historical significance. It is recommended to spend about 1 hour here. The trail is about 3 kilometers long. In order to preserve the original appearance, natural construction methods were used. Along the trail, there are bamboo forests,相思林 (a type of tree),百里香 (a type of fragrant herb), and plum gardens. The plant ecology is extremely rich.
