The Xihu-chiho branch office was established on June 1, 1943 in Showa era as the highest administrative authority of Xihu at that time. After the Handover, the former Xihu-chiho was reformed into Xihu Township, and the branch office was renamed as Xihu Township Office. Behind the office were originally dormitories and a duty guard room. In 1967 (ROC 56), the dormitories were demolished and an office was added in the southwest area. In 1980s (ROC 70s), the guard room was removed and an office was constructed along the southeast side. In 1982 (ROC 71), there previously was a plan to demolish the original branch office building, but due to certain reasons the plan was abandoned. Since 1986 (ROC 75), it has been continuously used as an office for Xihu Township Office, and registered as a historical architecture on April 10, 2002 (ROC 91). The original Xihu-chiho branch office building is a two-story reinforced concrete and brick structure with a hip roof covered in cement tiles. The roof of the street branch office has a gable parapet, beneath which are three arched terracotta decorations. Two windows are located on either side, while the central part houses a door that leads to a balcony. The exterior design features geometric shapes and exhibits an Art Deco architectural style. A staircase on the right side of the building leads to the second floor, once used as an auditorium space, now serving as offices for Xihu-li staff members.
