The Xiaowulaie Scenic Area is located in the eastern mountainous region between Beiheng Xiyunping and Fuxing Bridge. It is one of the well-known attractions along the entire Beiheng corridor. Visitors exploring the area can enjoy cherry blossoms, waterfalls, and waterfronts, but a must-visit experience is the Sky Rope Bridge—a novel attraction within the Xiaowulaie Specific Scenic Area. Officially opened during Western Valentine’s Day by the Taoyuan City Government, the bridge aims to connect travelers with nature, offering a chance to clear their minds, evoke memories of their first love, and create cherished memories. Currently, the most popular attraction in the Xiaowulaie Scenic Area is the thrilling Skywalk. Here, visitors can experience the heart-pounding sensation of standing above waterfalls and sheer cliffs. After the Skywalk, visitors can walk just five minutes to reach the "Sky Rope Bridge," a newly opened attraction. Suspended 70 meters long between the Da Li Gan Gully and elevated nearly 50 meters above ground, the rope bridge is fastened with bottom steel cables for stability. Its level of excitement feels like an advanced step to "Xiaowulaie Skywalk 2.0." Launched in 2015, the Sky Rope Bridge provides a different experience than the Skywalk, which features transparent glass to challenge visual perceptions. Here, hikers walk atop a bridge approximately one meter wide, designed to only accommodate one person at a time. Though the bridge was engineered to bear up to 120 tons and equipped with anti-wind main cables on both sides to reduce swaying in strong winds, its primary suspension differs from the Skywalk's, positioning these cables beneath the path. Combined with resonance from the steps of preceding and following visitors, this design creates a particularly swaying sensation, as if swinging between the valleys with the footbridge above a canyon's riverbed. Steel cables rise to chest level for hikers, offering panoramic views of dense forest scenery—a unique high-altitude challenge with its own special flavor. Visitors who come to the Sky Rope Bridge not only experience the thrilling passage through deep valleys but also the scenic beauty of waterfalls. Midway along the bridge, a view of the hidden "Mystery Waterfall" emerges within the valley. As access is one-way and leads to either the "Yi Xing Suspension Bridge" or the "Dragon and Phoenix Falls," those desiring a leg workout can choose the 1.5-hour trek to the "Irrigation Channel Ancient Path" leading to the "Yi Xing Suspension Bridge." Alternatively, hikers can return in twenty minutes to witness the "Dragon and Phoenix Falls," which consist of two tiers: the upper "Dragon Valley Waterfall," 13 meters high; and the lower "Phoenix Valley Waterfall," 9 meters high. The cascading water and lush surroundings generate rich negative ions and phytoncides, immersing visitors in the restorative embrace of nature.
