The Wulai Gondola is located in Wulai District, New Taipei City. It is a reversible ropeway that leads into Yun-Hsien Amusement Park and has been in operation since August 1967. While one cabin ascends, the other descends, making it the signature attraction of Yun-Hsien Amusement Park. The aerial tramway has only two terminals, linking Wulai Waterfall Street with Yun-Hsien Amusement Park. It is Taiwan’s first passenger-carrying sightseeing gondola and one of the most famous tourist features of Wulai, built especially by Yun-Hsien Amusement Park. Riding the gondola across the Nanshi River valley, visitors can admire the Wulai Waterfall from different angles, overlook the Yunlong Waterfall, and from the platform enjoy sweeping views of the Nanshi River gorge. Situated downstream of the Wulai River, Yun-Hsien Amusement Park is home to northern Taiwan’s largest and highest waterfall—the Wulai Waterfall—whose misty rainbows always draw visitors to the tranquil Warrior Square on the opposite bank for quiet appreciation. The Wulai Gondola, spanning the Nanshi River beside the hot-spring street, not only serves as a charming landmark of Wulai but also offers an ideal vantage point to view the waterfall from above.
