Located in the Xizhi District of New Taipei City, Gongbei Temple is a renowned maple leaf viewing spot. Every year, from late November to late December, the "maple trees" on the mountain turn red, attracting a large crowd of people to admire the beauty. Additionally, the alleys of Xizhi at the foot of the mountain have a charming food scene, and on holidays, all the famous restaurants are very lively. Gongbei Temple is a hundred-year-old ancient temple in New Taipei City, with the earliest temple built in 1906. The entrance to the temple is in the style of a Shinto shrine, and after passing through the red bridge and Japanese stone lanterns, you can arrive at the recently popular Double-Arched Bridge. The Double-Arched Bridge has a beautiful and elegant design, making it a popular spot for taking wedding photos. With the maple leaves turning red after a cold front, you can experience the ultimate autumn scenery without having to travel to Japan. Gongbei Temple has multiple hiking trails, and you can walk up the stone steps to the Chuanliu Pavilion, which offers a panoramic view of Xizhi City and the surrounding mountains. Apart from visiting Gongbei Temple, trying the local cuisine on Xizhi Street is also a must. The Babao Dongfen restaurant serves delicious soup with a affordable price, making it a great option for hikers. The Mingji Vietnamese restaurant, which is difficult to get a seat at on holidays, offers a variety of dishes with a sweet and sour taste, and the streets near the Xike Train Station have many restaurants to choose from. If you're out too late, the Xizhi Night Market on the Fifth New Taipei Road is a great place to fill your stomach!
