Taipei Arena is located at the intersection of Dunhua North Road and Nanjing East Road 4th Section in Songshan District. It was formerly known as the Taipei City Baseball Stadium. At the end of 2000, the Taipei City Government demolished the old baseball stadium and constructed a 15,000-seat multi-purpose arena on the same site.
Taipei Arena is an HRC building with 2 underground floors and 5 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of approximately 99,000 square meters. The seating configuration in the audience area can be quickly adjusted according to different purposes: for a central stage concert or basketball game, it can accommodate 15,350 seats; for a remote stage concert or large gathering, it can accommodate 13,500 seats; for a near stage concert or performing arts, it can accommodate about 10,000 seats.
The annex of Taipei Arena is always frozen, serving as an international standard ice rink, equipped with facilities for ice hockey and speed skating, and can host standard indoor ice sports. It is open to the public (ice park) for general citizens to participate in ice skating, and offers various educational training courses. The spectator stands of the ice rink can accommodate 800 seats.
In addition, the Taipei Arena has a 6,000-square-meter commercial space, providing comfortable dining and leisure environment for the audience. It also built a north-facing outdoor plaza in conjunction with the undergrounding project of the original Taiwan Power Company substation, linking the surrounding commercial areas.
