"Taiwan Matchbox Story Museum" is an exhibition venue themed around matches. It provides a detailed introduction to the invention of matches and the rise and fall of Taiwan's match industry. The museum also showcases a diverse array of artifacts, including match lighting tools, match-smoking accessories, matchboxes from the Japanese colonial period, Taiwanese advertising matchboxes, imported matchboxes from abroad, as well as match factory documents and employee uniforms. In addition, the museum has specially borrowed a match stub printing machine and a match stub transport cart from the National Museum of Science and Industry. The varied collections offer visitors an opportunity to appreciate and savor the details, evoking memories of past lifestyles. It is a space worth exploring for people of all ages to discover match stories. Families are welcome to visit.
Operating hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Weekends: Group visits of 20 people or more can apply for group reservations. Upon approval, visits are allowed on holidays. If volunteer guides are required, they can be requested at the time of reservation.
