Caopingtou Tea Area is located in Tongfu Village, Xinyi Township, at an altitude of about 1,300 meters, alongside Provincial Highway 21 on the New Central Cross-Island Highway. It covers a vast 48-hectare tea plantation. In 1993, it was promoted by government agencies as a sightseeing tea garden. The cool climate and year-round mist provide an ideal environment for tea trees. Situated at a high elevation on the foothills of Yushan, the “Yushan Oolong” cultivated here is distinct from teas of other regions—fragrant, mellow, and sweet—highly favored by consumers. Every year during the Lunar New Year, pink, pale pink, and white cherry blossoms bloom in the Caopingtou Tourist Leisure Farm. Over 3,000 cherry trees line the road, their pink petals drifting like misty rain. Visitors can stroll leisurely through the tea garden, enjoy the beautiful tea-country scenery and rich tea aroma, and experience the relaxed pace of rural life.
