The multifunctional activity square in the center of New Taipei City's Citizen Square is surrounded by the stage on the south side, the bamboo shoot landmark on the north side, gardens and sky bridges on the east and west sides. It often hosts various events by the city government, including popular events such as the "New Taipei City Happy Christmas City" and the "New Taipei City Summer Art Festival." Sometimes, classic football matches are also broadcast on the large electronic signboard next to the stage. Located in the central area of the Xinbei District, the Citizen Square is not only adjacent to the city government building, department stores, and underground shopping areas, but also a key transit area where the Banqiao Railway Station, which is a hub for three railway lines, passes through.
