台中市大雅區月祥路305號
The Tank Park is located in Zhongyi Village, Daya District (adjacent to the terminal station of Tanyashen Greenway). It is one of the viewing spots where cyclists can park and observe on the way. The three displayed M48A3 tanks are military weapons that have once endured bombardment and conflict. The tank armor regiment had stationed at Qingquan Gate for several decades; after decommissioning, the Ministry of National Defense allowed the Daya District Office to allocate them for public viewing. Locals refer to the tank display area as the Tank Park. In the early 1950s, during the Korean War, the U.S. military realized that the then-current tanks could not effectively counter North Korea's Soviet-made T-34/85 tanks, and a new type of tank was urgently needed, leading to the birth of the M48 tank. In October 1950, a Detroit tank factory began designing a tank equipped with a 90‑mm main gun. In December of the same year, Chrysler Company obtained this design, which was completed in December 1951 and officially announced as the T48 tank on July 1, 1952, naming it the General Patton-style tank.
