Checheng is the terminus of the Jiji Branch Line and is known as the "last railway station". The old railway station originally had a reinforced concrete structure. After the 921 earthquake, it was renovated by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration, using wooden materials as the main exterior. The new railway station is simple in material and elegant in style. Its unique architectural style is well-integrated with the landscape of the mountain town, and it is reputed to be the "most beautiful railway station".
