The Matsu An Palace, a temple devoted to Matsu, is located in the former Sugar Factory of the Sihui Industry. In the early days, its worshipers were almost entirely employees of the Tiger Tail Sugar Factory, and it was nicknamed the “Sugar Factory Matsu.” The temple was built in the early postwar period, with incense and offerings coming from the Lu‑kang Tianhou Temple and the Lu‑kang Xinzhu Temple. Every year, during the “Bùdòng” – the sugar‑making work season, the factory invites Matsu to participate in the procession and bestow blessings.
