The trail leading to the entrance of the bunker is approximately 50 meters long, arranged in a zigzag pattern. The viewing platform is creatively designed around a machine gun emplacement from the World War II era and can accommodate about 40 visitors. Opposite the Swettenham Park British Consulate General Culture Park and its hillside residence, visitors can enjoy the scenic views of Xiaoshan nearby, as well as gaze afar at landmarks such as the 85 Sky Tower, Kaohsiung Port, and Qijin Island. The platform also offers a panoramic view of the historic and modern architecture of Hamahsin, while allowing you to feel the breeze from Qishan Bay and immerse yourself in its historical charm. The viewing platform and trail are equipped with lighting, providing a special atmosphere for enjoying the harbor sunset in the evening. "Shaochuantou Mountain," also commonly known as "Chicken Rook Mountain," has an elevation of 25 meters. Its bunker was likely constructed during the Japanese colonial period in 1944, towards the end of the Pacific War, around the same time as the anti-aircraft gun placements along the Swettenham Trail. Having long been unused, it was once overgrown within the forest. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has diligently developed military tourism sites and, after two years of planning and construction, has finally revived these once-neglected historical relics. To visit, start from the small park opposite Lane 30, Anchuan Street, Gangshan District, proceed along the mountain trail and continue forward along the Swettenham Park British Consulate General Residence Scenic Trail. The site is reached within less than a minute.
