A beautiful old house, a Hong Kong designer, and a food lover have together created a romantic light-meal & coffee house.
Set in a 50-year-old dormitory on Xingye East Road, the owner deliberately kept the original gate, wall, garden, and old iron windows. If you’re not paying attention, you’ll probably walk right past it, mistaking it for an ordinary residence—hence the name “Come home.”
Push open the door and the sight will make you smile—old and new blend so pleasingly! While most restaurants chase table-turn rates, higher turnover means higher profit, this airy spot, opened in 2012 (Republic of China Year 101), wants you to linger lazily and unhurriedly, as if you were home. Every corner is its own little world; you’ll want to sit in each one, savor a different view, and freeze yourself in an elegant frame.
In one corner, tableware retired from another Chiayi restaurant—O-Linda Kitchen—lies quietly, waiting for the right treasure-hunter.
Under the “light-meal” theme, Come home’s menu features brunch and afternoon-tea stars: bagels, sandwiches, toasts, and distinctive drinks. Don’t miss the limited stew served with a toasted baguette: crusty outside, soft and chewy within, generous in size; dip it into the rich stew and the flavors marry perfectly.
Come home Coffee Stroll gives guests the comfort of returning home; above the kitchen a skylight floods the space with sunshine, and if you’re lucky a short-legged corgi will dart past. This is more than a restaurant—the staff share a family-like bond; when you dine here, take a moment to feel that warm, homey atmosphere.
