Luoyang Taiping Ma, accompanying the splendor of the old street Xiluo Fuxing Temple, dedicated to Mazu, is commonly known as the Old Street Taiping Ma. Located on Yanping Road, it enjoys a strategic position and has witnessed the rise and fall of the old street. The plaque "Haoyi Congfeng" hanging in the temple testifies to the Zhang Bing incident during the Daoguang era, when the ancestors of Xiluo, Erlun, and Lunbei townships assisted the Qing government in quelling the unrest. Fuxing Temple was founded in the 56th year of Emperor Kangxi’s reign (1717 AD). It primarily enshrines the Heavenly Holy Mother (Mazu). Local residents call it "Mazu Temple," and it is the oldest Mazu temple on Xiluo Street. Because the Mazu enshrined in the temple has performed many miracles, devotees respectfully call her "Taiping Ma." The temple preserves many important legally-designated cultural assets, making it a treasure trove of Taiwan’s history and culture. The annual "Luoyang Welcomes Taiping" pilgrimage is the only Mazu procession in Taiwan held in autumn and has been designated by the Ministry of the Interior as one of Taiwan’s Top 100 Religious Scenes. The present temple complex was rebuilt in 1962. The renowned architect Ye Xinzhu was commissioned for the design, and celebrated craftsmen were engaged for the construction. Award-winning master Chen Zhuanlin crafted the main-hall shrine, National Living Treasure Chen Shouyi designed the stone-carving drafts, and the famous stonemason Jiang Wenfeng executed the carvings, leaving behind numerous classic works. At the same time, the temple retains many Qing-dynasty artifacts; four of them have been designated by the Ministry of Culture as cultural relics. Among them, the 1833 "Haoyi Congfeng" plaque is the Qing-dynasty plaque with the most characters in Taiwan and holds significant cultural value.
