Over the past century, families such as the Lin family from Wufong and Wu Luanqi, the chief builder of Taiwan, along with thousands of wealthy merchants and businessmen, have used precious flower bricks to adorn their homes, showcasing their family's wealth and status. As a result, Taiwan is filled with world-class, precious flower brick culture. However, during the process of urban renewal, the rapid increase in land prices has led to the demolition of thousands of old houses with flower bricks. We, a group of flower brick volunteers made up of office workers, have spent twenty years and accumulated savings to quietly preserve thousands of century-old flower bricks in Taiwan. We have established a restoration center and are taking steps to build a comprehensive database on this land, hoping to leave behind a precious visual record for future generations. Our efforts go beyond preservation; we also provide precious flower bricks "free of charge" to continuously support the restoration work of old Taiwanese houses.
