The Five Finger Mountain, located at the border of the three townships of Beipu, Zhudong and Wufeng, has rolling mountain peaks that resemble five fingers, hence the name. Since ancient times, the Five Finger Mountain has been known for its steep terrain and majestic momentum. The "Danshui Hall Records" of the Qing dynasty listed it as one of the eight scenic spots in Danshui, called "Finger Peak Piercing the Clouds". It was also listed as one of the "eight scenic spots south of the Zhuo River" as "Five Fingers Reaching the Clouds". During the Japanese rule, the Five Finger Mountain was selected as one of the twelve famous scenic spots in Taiwan. The mountain is very popular with hikers and was listed as one of the Small Hundred Mountains in Taiwan, and was also selected as one of the Top 100 Famous Mountains in Taiwan.
