Mi Theme Nangang Station

2017-07-05
台北市南港區忠孝東路7段380號
The Mi Team's theme installation art, widely loved by many, is hidden within the Nangang Station of the MRT Ban-Nan Line. Nangang MRT Station boldly introduced internationally renowned Mi's paintings, fully demonstrating the modernity of the MRT station, realistic yet beautiful. It has become the most talked-about topic since the opening of Nangang MRT Station. There are a total of six large-scale colored murals inside the station, directly enlarged and fired onto the tiles based on the illustration works from Mi's best-selling book "Underground Railway," then embedded into the walls. Only one of them is a newly created artwork, integrating representative characters from Mi's works over the years. Among them, the largest one is 141 meters long and 7 meters high, located on the wall of the platform. Under Mi's delicate brushstrokes and observations, the scenery on the train can be seen before it arrives. There are old men reading newspapers, office workers commuting, and children without seats, bored and daydreaming about witches flying past the window, pigs and rabbits running on the open fields, and scenes of a competition between them and the train, which is very interesting and adds artistic leisure to the boring waiting time.
